Restaurant Interior Design – Pier 76 Fish Grill

By , August 9, 2013 8:02 pm

An Interior Finishes & Design Board helps the client envision a completed project prior to purchasing and helps finalize a concept. This was constructed at an early phase of the project, and now seeing the final product alongside the Finishes & Design Board shows a cohesive project from conceptualization through construction!

We designed this fast casual seafood restaurant in downtown Long Beach, California, to have a clean ambiance with rustic details yet modern finishings to heighten the feeling of the same things in the food.  At Pier 76 Fish Grill, you’ll find just that.  A beautifully grilled piece of Barramundi with fresh grill marks, served with a side of curly kale and tomato salad or Vermont white cheddar mac & cheese, set off on a miniature stainless steel baking sheet and a waxed butcher paper.  It’s details like this that set in motion the design concept for Pier 76.

This was the Interior Finishes & Design Board that we put together over a year ago to help the client envision a completed project prior to making any moves.  These design boards help finalize a concept, provide options for change and create visual cohesion prior to any purchasing an not even necessarily with a specific building or space in mind.

Now seeing the final product alongside the Finishes & Design Board shows a project from conceptualization through construction in what we consider a successful way!

Details like having custom tables with branding creates a distinct feel that sets Pier 76 Fish Grill apart from other restaurants.

You see similar details in the mixing of metals such as iron, vintage steel and stainless steel, as well as the slate chair rail and wainscot that complements the high ceilings while simultaneously creating a sense of intimacy.

Random Collection of Photos

By , December 18, 2009 1:19 pm

I don’t want to get too cheesy, but I wanted to put up some of my random artsy photos I’ve taken lately.  A small collection of photos from places like Big Sur, Napa, and even a couple from my old Canon AE-1 Program camera.

I plan on putting up some more sometime soon, too.  So take a look, let me know what you think.

Candice Kirk’s New Headshots!

By , October 15, 2009 2:49 am

Another awesome photography session!  This time with the beautiful actress Candice Kirk!  What a babe :)

I’m lucky as well to have this profound beauty as my great friend.  We spent some time working on mostly commercial shots for her, all around Long Beach on an unusually cloudy day.  Made for some awesome diffused light!  Check out the shot we ended up using!  I’m very excited!

The Commotions for Tres Noir Eyewear

By , August 10, 2009 12:44 pm

Hey there!  I had the opportunity to shoot one of my favorite Long Beach bands called the Commotions for an advertisement for this awesome handmade sunglasses company called Tres Noir.  Tres Noir are gorgeous eyewear with handmade acetate frames produced in limited quantities that provide a unique but classic look. From their own website, “Feasting on a heavy diet of Southern California culture- rock n’roll, action sports, and lowbrow art, the brand came to life.”

The Commotions play soul pop rock type stuff that get you groovin on the dance floor with wicked steady beats and sassy lyrics to ensure everyone’s having a good time!  You can listen to them on their myspace page here!

The first photo below is  going into a print advertisement for the company in a well-known German music magazine, so congratulations to the band and congratulations to me on my first print photography!  Have a look at the whole set!
